In middle school, I was incredibly lucky to attend a local STEM summer program (Water: Science and Culture in a Changing Climate) which helped ignite my scientific career. Since then, I've looked for ways to give back to the communities in which I've lived to share my love for science. At Harvard, this was with ExperiMentors which designed science enrichment courses for local elementary school classrooms. I designed labs from magnetism to chromatography to life science for students ranging from 3-9 years old. At Yale, I've also found ways to engage with the local community both in-person pre-COVID with OpenLabs events and Pathways to Science Science on Saturdays and during-COVID with weekly online science enrichment events for middle school students in the New Haven and surrounding communities with Exploring Science. I hope to continue giving back to the community in some respect as I move forward in my career as well.

Music, Trumpet
Hamden Symphony Orchestra
Harvard University Band
Harvard University Wind Ensemble
Las Vegas Youth Orchestra
I began playing the trumpet in middle school and by the second week of sixth grade, I had been moved up to our intermediate band. Throughout middle and high school, I was among the lead trumpet players in my school and my school district. I was also a member of the Las Vegas Youth Orchestra which allowed me to perform in four cities throughout Poland and Germany the summer of 2018. In college, I continued playing the trumpet in the Harvard University Band and the Harvard Wind Ensemble. These were incredible experiences which allowed me to perform for all the Harvard football and hockey games as well as for personalities such as Steven Spielberg, John Williams, Eva Longoria, Viola Davis, John Lithgow, Jimmy Fallon and more. At Yale, I still find time to play my trumpet in the Hamden Symphony Orchestra with whom I've even performed a virtual benefit concert with during COVID.

Japanese Language
Private Study since 2021
What began as a simple fascination of the language and the download of a few Japanese-learning phone apps grew into dedicated study of the language by 2021. I am currently taking Japanese lessons with a native speaker twice a week (total 3 hours/week) and am working with the みんなの日本語 (Minna no Nihongo) series. I hope to one day be conversationally fluent and travel to Japan to explore its culture firsthand.

Cooking
Self Taught
In lieu of traveling the world, I have found joy exploring varied cultures through cooking and testing recipes from the comfort of my home. I try to cook a new homemade recipe once a week and I've seen my cooking skills multiply and my number of favorite foods increase the same. I've cooked take-out favorites like Thai Drunken Noodle, American classics like Chicken Pot Pie and tried a multitude of foods for the first time by my own hands. Who knows what I'll cook next, but I'm sure it'll be tasty!
